Electrical for ADUs and New Builds — From Rough-In to Final.

New construction electrical done correctly from the start protects your project timeline and prevents costly rework after walls are closed.

ADU Electrical

Most ADUs require their own electrical subpanel fed from the main residence panel, with separate metering in some cases depending on the structure type and local building department requirements. The electrical scope for a typical ADU includes service capacity planning, subpanel installation, complete rough-in wiring, final device installation, and coordination with the utility for service upgrades if the main panel lacks headroom.

We work with your general contractor throughout the build: present at rough-in, providing accurate inspection documentation, and returning for final device installation and final inspection. MAG Electric does not disappear between project phases.

Construction Phases We Cover

  • Temporary power for construction activities
  • Underground conduit and service entry
  • Rough-in wiring and panel installation
  • Final device installation (outlets, switches, fixtures)
  • Final inspection coordination and sign-off

Future-Proofing Your Build

The most cost-effective time to add EV charging conduit, solar-ready provisions, and additional circuit capacity is at rough-in when walls are open. We discuss your 3-to-5-year plans during the design phase and rough in for future needs at minimal incremental cost. This saves thousands compared to adding features after the walls are closed.
